Good for notifications, but custom domains are tricky

This time around, using LaunchNotes for our customer notifications was pretty straightforward, similar to my last experience. The Slack integration works perfectly, keeping our team in the loop without issue. My only gripe is that hosting on a custom domain isn't as simple as it should be, which adds an extra step we didn't expect.

Pretty good for comms

Just grabbed LaunchNotes to handle our product updates. It's been pretty chill to get the hang of. Set up some automated notifications and it's doing its thing. The private pages are neat for internal stuff before we push anything public. It's way easier than trying to wrangle emails and Slack messages manually. Felt like a good fit for what we needed, honestly. No real complaints, just doing what it's supposed to.

Easy setup, good features

Got the LaunchNotes subscription. Setup was quick. Used it for release notes. Integrates with Slack well. Customer notifications go out on time. Simple to use. No issues with service. Happy with the purchase.

Good tool, some setup effort

I set up LaunchNotes for our team's product updates about a month ago. The initial setup for custom branding and integrating with Slack was pretty straightforward, but it took a bit to get all our existing release notes migrated over properly. The product roadmap feature has been really useful for our GTM team. Delivery of email notifications to subscribers worked as expected, and the analytics dashboard gives a decent overview, though I wish it had a bit more depth on engagement metrics. Support was responsive when I had a question about SSO configuration, getting back to me within a few hours. Overall, it's a solid platform; just be ready to dedicate some time to onboarding if you have a lot of historical data.

Consistent, reliable updates

I've been using LaunchNotes for about a year now across different projects, mainly for release management and customer notifications. This latest purchase, setting up a new instance for a different product line, was just as smooth as the first time. The Jira integration continues to be a lifesaver for our dev team, automatically pulling in updates. It's consistently reliable; I haven't run into any major issues across any of my accounts. The platform just works, which is why I keep coming back. It's a foundational part of our product operations workflow now.

We're a small startup, just a few people. Is LaunchNotes overkill or would it actually be useful for us?

M Megan G. 2 months ago
Nah, it's not overkill. They have plans for smaller teams. Even the free tier gives you a good feel for it, though it's more limited.

I'm on a small team and we find it super helpful for keeping our users updated without a ton of manual work. Saves us time for sure.

Hey, how do the 'custom domains' work? Can I really have our product updates on updates.ourcompany.com?

B Brett 2 months ago
Yup, you can absolutely do that. It makes everything look more professional.

M Mark 2 months ago
It's just a setting you configure, pointing your CNAME record. They have instructions for it.

Does LaunchNotes support single sign-on (SSO)? Our security team is pretty strict about that.

J June 2 months ago
I know the Enterprise plan definitely has SSO. Not sure about the other tiers though, you'd have to check their pricing page.

We're on enterprise and use SSO, works fine.

I saw something about a non-profit discount. Is that a real thing or just for super big charities?

M Marcus 2 months ago
They do offer a non-profit discount! You usually have to reach out to their sales team or support to get it set up, it's not automatic on the site.

My organization got one, definitely worth asking them directly.

Hey, wondering about pricing. Is there any way to get a discount besides paying yearly?

T Todd Z. 2 months ago
Yeah, paying annually usually gets you a chunk off, like 15-20% I think. But I heard they sometimes have special deals for startups or non-profits if you ask.

M Marcus B. 2 months ago
You could also check for referral credits. My friend got something that way once.

Can I integrate this with Microsoft Teams? That's kinda crucial for us.

B Beth 1 month ago
Yep, it integrates with Teams. We use it for internal updates all the time.

Any info on their cancellation policy? Just in case it doesn't work out.

C Colin R. 1 month ago
It's pretty easy to cancel. Just go into your account settings. I had to do it once when we pivoted, no issues.

G Greg Nguyen 1 month ago
I think you just cancel before your next billing cycle to avoid being charged again.
